What you have is good. Its been pointed out in Dawn that even though they technically are not true dinosaurs like from Earth the similarities are close enough to classify them and most inhabitants and visitors just don't care anyway.

I can leave it to you for the scientific classification since you seem to have a pretty good idea about it. The majority of scientific explanation would take place in your part of the timeline anyway.

Upon further reflection on this topic I think that we can get away with stating these creatures evolved on a parallel process from Earth but we can take liberties with the descriptions since they are not true dinosaurs such as Stegosaurus with 6 spines at the end of the tail rather than 4. On a side by side comparison there will be notable differences but the overall appeal will be the same.

I think Xenobiological species would work better so as not to be confused with the xenomorphs from the Aliens franchise.
